BJJ black belt who shattered student’s jaw for slacking off is jailed for two years.

BJJ black belt instructor Sergio Robalo has been jailed for two years after he shattered his white belt student’s jaw back in 2013. The event took place in the Burslem area of Stoke-on-Trent where he was teaching jiu-jitsu. Robalo pledged guilty for inflicting bodily harm in the unprovoked attack.

According to the Daily Mail, Robalo lost his temper with his student Graham Jenkins because he thought the student was slacking off during the class.  Instructor and student clashed during the sparing but the conflict was taken off the mats.

Mr. Jenkins took some time off from jiu-jitsu and he got really tired while sparring so he decided to lose on purpose to sit out. Robalo got angry because of this so he demanded Jenkins to spar with him.

During this sparring, Robalo decided to deliberately hurt him not releasing submission even when he was taping. At the end of the class while Jenkins was changing the instructor punched him in the face, breaking his jaw.
